Bushra Rehman grew up in unadorned tight-knit religious community in Queens nearby one of the first Sunni masjids built in NYC. As a writer, tutoring artist and cultural activist, her occlusion with audiences comes from decades surrounding sharing her distinct brand of storytelling and political dialogue in community gatherings, distrust theaters, and in universities.
