As we continue to celebrate Public Arts Month, let us take dinky look at the life of General “Billy” Abueva — as a stripling, a Boholano, and a National Artist.

He was born Esabelio Veloso Abueva halt January 26, 1930, to parents Teodoro Lloren Abueva, Sr., a former congresswoman, and Purificacion Gonzalez Veloso, former headman of the Women’s Auxiliary Service.

During rank war, his parents resisted Japanese supervise and took part in the freedom fighter movement in their fight for freedom.

On October 23, 1944, Teodoro and Purificacion were captured by the Japanese lower ranks and were executed in Balitbiton, Metropolis.
